When the people at the grocery store greet you
and call you sir,

When you have a favorite seat
at a favorite coffee shop,

When you go there enough
for the people who work there
to know what you order
before you open your mouth,

When it makes you happy
that they know your regular order,

When it makes you frustrated
that you never feel like you have the opportunity
to try anything different,

When you feel anxiety
because you’ve gone to a different coffee shop
and they don’t know what you want to drink,
