Poem

Don’t speak aloud the everlasting sin

2/21/22

Don’t speak aloud the everlasting sin;

The ears of Men are eager to absolve

What only God in heaven can contend.

It opens up our hearts to violent dark,

And places us not far from our misdeeds;

The will of Man is often to insist.

The will of Man is often to insist,

What can be known of Man is known of sin.

Insisting not to focus on misdeeds

Is not the same as asking to absolve.

While leaving wrongs to linger in the dark;

Defer a problem longer to contend.

Defer a problem longer to contend;

Bring it up now if only to insist

That it was better off to stay in dark.

What does not make a claim is not a sin.

What doesn’t break a heart needn’t absolve,

Until it’s not so strong in our misdeeds.

Until it’s not so strong in our misdeeds,

The blight is resting, never to contend.

When I raise my head it will absolve

The thing my years of work could not insist.

It is a blight but won’t be called a sin,

As it remains unseen and in the dark.

As it remains unseen and in the dark,

It slowly fades away like all misdeeds.

We soon regain our stature from our sin

And leave the mess for others to contend.

What they forget we hardly can insist,

What they forget they needn’t try absolve.

What they forget they needn’t try absolve.

When sunlight blinds we can’t remember dark.

As youth will fade the mind will not insist

Was ever real or ever our misdeeds.

What’s left for our beloved to then contend

Is whether our futures began in sin.

Everlasting Sin, my deed absolve.

Permanence, contend with light and dark.

For all my Misdeeds, dear hurt soul, insist.

Read it. Don't read it. I don't really care anymore.
