Poem

A blossom that is fragrant fresh and soft

A blossom that is fragrant fresh and soft
is just the same as when it’s dry and frail
they both can send their fragrance high aloft
despite one being brittle and more pale.
the fresh soft bloom is turbulent with life
to keep its petals like a boat set sail
and in the changing wind it gains from strife
its sales no fuller than when they are a gale.
the dead grey bloom is hardly dead at all
it merely trades for wisdom out of vigor
while loosing none of what once gave it scent
experiencing life before the fall
trading soft for structure for the winter
and therefore spring – and life anew relent.

Read it. Don't read it. I don't really care anymore.
