Poem

As fragrant mist is settling on the lake

As fragrant mist is settling on the lake.
And moon and stars all flicker into view.
I must turn in to ponder out the sake.
For which I feel the way I feel for you.

The reed and thicket whisper in the wind.
About the languid fall into disgrace.
For one intention leads its way to sin.
For one selfish moment, I am touched by grace.

But birds and crickets sing on high above.
A sweet heart’s tune or gentle lover’s song.
That this disgrace I feel might hide my love.
And my unease is wanting to belong.

My thoughts have gone from dark to morning light.
should I say goodbye to you or goodnight.

Read it. Don't read it. I don't really care anymore.
