Poem

Rebuilding what I should have kept intact

Rebuilding what I should have kept intact
has proven to be more than I thought it would be
the time I lavish now I can’t get back
and the time I squandered yore was hardly free!
Had I been more wise I would have made
the effort to just live within my means
instead I treated it a game and played
and weep as I relive those vacant scenes.
my life is now a a rich and fruitful thing
I try to focus more and not lament
for how it could have gone the other way
I use the time for stretching and to ring
my muscles until aching will relent
and treat this work as another form of play.

Read it. Don't read it. I don't really care anymore.
